Join the Action become a WindRider

WindRider is a TLS WindSled program that gives you the opportunity to get involved. Registering as a WindRider you help sponsor various programs and events such as the Lake Geneva Hovercraft Challenge. WindRider members are offered access to a web page designed to keep our Sponsors updated on the progress of a particular project we are involved in. You can purchase multiple WindRider Sponsorship. Like the Lake Geneva Hovercraft Challenge? Choose the LGHC WindRider option the money from that sponsorship will help fund two very important charities the RFK and the Bob Windt Foundation, as well as help sponsor a hovercraft pilot at the event.  Our pilots volunteer their time and hovercraft to make sure these events are fun and exciting. Many of our pilots also contribute by helping secure WindRider members in their home area to help fund these events and projects.

 Current WindRider Project

1. Lake Geneva Hovercraft Rides 2021

3. Non-Profit Royal Family Kids

For years hovercraft have been gathering on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin to take part in an annual winter event. After attending last years event a couple of pilots got together and discussed the idea of expanding the event to include more public participation. We are working hard to present Hover Rides during the 2019-2020 winter season.

2. Your Support

As you can imagine an event like this requires some work and we have been working hard putting together all the details for this event. As with any project this event will cost some money to produce, we are working hard to keep those cost to a minimum, however we are also reaching a point where help from our sponsors will be required to make this an awesome and memorable event. Please join this effort by becoming a WindRider Sponsor. Each new LGHC WindRider Sponsor will receive one ride ticket to be used for one passenger during the January 25-27 event. A portion of profit from the rides at the Lake Geneva Challenge will be used to provide scholarships for the Royal Family Kids camps (see article). A dollar vote for the best in show at the Challenge will all be given to the RFKC.  20% of WindRider Sponsor membership will be donated to the projects 3 & 4. Thank you in advance for helping make this event a success.
The Lake Geneva Hovercraft Rides event will also be raising funds for an incredible organization that specializes in hosting summer camps for foster kids. Royal Family Kids currently operates in 32 states in the U.S.  As you can imagine these children come from some very difficult situation. The summer camps are designed to rebuild life skills, help the children to understand that there are people who can and want to help. Adults who will listen and not judge, who will befriend them no matter what.

The camp staff is made up of volunteers, there is no cost to the children, the foster parents, or the foster care system. Volunteers use a week of their vacation to be there for the children, what they typically find is that not only do they see the lives of the children changed but their own lives as well. Thank you for supporting us as we support the RFK.

4. The Bob Windt Foundation

This foundation is in it's infancy, the man for which the foundation is being created was known by several names "Rocket Bob" and "Mr. Hovercraft". I am in my sixties and when I was a child around the age of 10-12 I became interested in hovercraft. Bob's ads could be found in the back of magazines and I always wanted to get one of his plans and build my own hovercraft. Now as an adult I own two and will soon begin working on a design of my own. Bob Windt was a man who had a focus on helping children learn. Bob was not only a mentor but a life guide to a great many people who are currently involved in hovercrafting. Bob supplied plans and coaching to multiple schools across the country teaching children to build and develop hovercraft. Bob was also the legal guardian to several kids who found themselves in need of an adult who could step in and fill the gap left by situations beyond their control.
Thank you in advance for helping support this project.
